I was dedicated to comfort keepers. They werent fair with me when the one person who i worked for daily got upset with me for running late. I always showed up and stayed longer than i was supposed to. She was my best friend too. She passed away. When i called to tell them i was sick. They made me go anyways.no matter what. They wouldnt keep me in for different people likecwhen i started. They didnt take federal income taxes out .. I called to ask why.. They said i claimed 5. I have never ever claimed 5. I only have two me and my hubby..someone had to mess with my paperwork after my oreintation. All the years i have worked i clsim 0 or 1. Reann was rude to me many times. I call to get them to send me proof of when my last day was there twice. They tell me they will. Nothing. It messed mevout of foodtamps. The one i worked for was always fine if i.let her know im running late.. Scott Skinner hired me said i could talk to Reann about getting clients back in lafayette where i started. I advertised for them also. I was hired on creasy lane Lafayette, indiana. I was relying on taxes to pay up my bills. I need some answers to how I can be treated this way. Tamera Lynn Walker 765761****. I would have stayed with the company. But Reann rudely said no. I will get ahold ofvthe irs to report this mess. I got on for three weeks at 43 mcdonalds they took out federal. But wasnt worth the $ to drive there. I did not claim 5!!!

Sounds just like the one in Easton ! They didn’t even let me finish orientation my first day they put me in a house.

Not to mention I have no experience in this job veils. They hire ppl just to fill the homes with bodies. They lie and over charge clients and you have to watch your check and hours carefully they always forget to add hours or the peanuts the give you for gas.

The training is a joke and the office staff is terrible and offer no help on the 24 hour call line. They get angry if you call ate tell you to simply YouTube your question !

Unprofessional OWNER and Terrible ExperienceS

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

You know this is a horrible company when the OWNER tells you that if you want guaranteed care, you should put your loved on in a home. In a moment where Martha, the most unprofessional owner ever encountered, is under some stress at being called out for that comment, she chose to tell us that she was calling adult protective services on us for leaving our bedridden loved one home alone for an hour to take the kids to soccer practice.

If we were home 24/7, we would not need Comfort Keepers to come help care for our loved one. Hospice knows our situation and is in this home 5 days per week. Adult Protective Services has already told us she is getting better care than any home they have been in. The local police department is aware that our loved one is in the home for an hour here or there alone.

None of those agencies take issue with it. But Martha, hypocritical Martha, does. She has other immobile clients who require many hours of care per day. She has no problem leaving those clients without caregivers when people call out.

Those poor clients sit for 24 hours + in their own excrement starving because Martha cannot be bothered to send anyone. It took us 7 tries and 6 months for Martha to get our care plan right for our loved one in their system. After sending multiple emails with it written out step by step, all she had to do was copy and paste, but that was far too much for her to handle. We have had nothing but problems with this company.

There is always some excuse why things cannot get done. There are often times where they cannot send anyone with less than 2 hours notice.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I would like nothing more than to see them fold.

There are much better care givers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Inexperienced care givers and you have to pick up after them. How about 1 who visited about 6 times and was 15 to 30 minutes late 4 of those time. The other lacking common sense and was not a self starter. So I complained and they were irate.

TERRIBLE COMPANY

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We had Comfort Keepers for our mother. Most of the caregivers where incompetent and POORLY trained. When we complained about the care she was getting and Comfort Keepers dropped us saying we were to picky. We had aids fall asleep. and as soon as they got to work were on their phones. The girl's that we wanted that were good they couldn't give us on a steady schedule. They sent us people that had no business working for ANY company. We asked for larger aids because my mother was a larger person. She is bed ridden and needs help turning to be cleaned. NOT A GOOD COMPANY.

Website claims they offer Uranium Care Benefit - false advertising ?

We searched for a home care agency near Montrose, Co. that accepts the Uranium Benefits for our Father. Comfort Keepers website advertises they accept the Uranium Benefit. So we called and with the first contact they assured us they do and it would be free of charge. A home assessment person would contact us. When we had no contact, over 2 weeks later, I called again and was told they had no record of the first contact. They put me in touch with the home assessment person, I explained my Dads situation and the fact that he had the Uranium Benefits card. She stated they did not accept the Uranium benefit, only private pay. I answered "that is odd your website clearly states you do accept that benefit". She spoke with 2 other people in the office, then said she would call me back. When I had not heard from her by the next afternoon, I called again, she informed me we should call another company (whose name she gave me). She stated no one at the Montrose, Colorado location was aware of this benefit and they would not honor it. We could of course do private pay. Is it a case of Comfort Keepers not properly training their people, or is it false advertising?

They hire caretakers with battery charges!

Before you sign the contract, think twice! The care person assigned to my mother has a criminal record of battery with a dangerous weapon, criminal damage to property and more! She in fact wasn't able to start her first scheduled day due to her court hearing for her current battery charge from just 6 weeks ago!!!! They assured us they do complete background and criminal record checks on their employees... that was either a lie or they just don't care what they find. I can't believe they would send someone who the court ordered "anger management" assessments to care for my 79 year old mothers home, Unbelievable!

Unfortunately it sounds like this women slip thru the crack. If she had been charged but not convicted at the time of hire it wouldn’t show up on any background check.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We take feedback like this very seriously.

I would like to contact you to get additional information about the situation. Please email me at bryanhuber@corp.comfortkeepers.com.

Love my clents but not pleased with some of the office staff.

I filled everything out for direct deposit weeks before my first paycheck was due. I call to confirm wed because friday was payday. To be sure it was all set up and I was told my first check had to be picked up from office. So I'm sure nobody was going to contact me to let me know now that was a problem because I'm 40 miles from the office that is why I set up Direct deposit so I asked to please be mailed out that Fri. They agreed to mail out so I call and the receptionist forgot to mail it! I was expecting it Mon I need it for gas to get to work but now I have to wait till Wed just to get it! The commute is to far ..not enough pay for the drive then they don't even send out checks!? I love my client but communication could be alot better!

Very true, the office staff is very disrespectful and manipulative. They say no matter what's to always call if your ever in doubt but they cut the 24 hour phone line off or just don't answer, if they do they are upset you called to let them know your clients situation. They often tell other caregivers and clients personal bussiness.

Comfert keepers in Easton Md is the worst. Jess and Mr Rich will lie and tell you what ever you want.

They make up polices as they go, the caregivers and office staff are always on a huge turn around. They don’t even require the staff get TB shots.

They send caregivers to bed bug infested homes with out warning, some clients have scabies and they don’t inform the care givers on that issue either. Worst company I have ever worked for.

Do NOt Trust Comfort Keepers with your loved ones!

You are right to be concerned. I worked for this company for over a year and just could not stand it another second when I saw that one of the people I was caring for had bruises and other indications of abuse and when I took her to the E.R.

and filled out the paperwork with Comfort Keepers I thought it would be taken care of. Instead Comfort Keepers took the word of the family member who was abusive so that they could keep receiving money. They hire massive amounts of people who are not trained or certified with the impression that they only need to provide company so that the elderly has someone to talk to or share meals with. This is not true.

They say this but when you get to the patient's home your given a four page list of detailed cleaning and are just expected to help bathe and change adult diapers without any certification or training! It is so horrible that people are trusting this company with their loved ones! Comfort Keepers said they provide training classes for free but these classes are a joke.

They just allow everyone in the room to converse and then show a five minute video and then have everyone sign a sheet saying they passed the training. This was at the location in Traverse City Michigan in 2015.

My name is Leslie Knopp and I am one of the owners of the Traverse City, Michigan, location. For the more than 11 years we have owned and operated this location, we have always thoroughly investigated any complaints or allegations of abuse and neglect.

We only hire employees who pass a criminal background checks, and we're focused on hiring home care aides and registered nurses who we would be comfortable having care for our own family members. Everyone we hire participates in a three-hour training and has their skills competency evaluated by a nurse before they are ever paired with a client. We also require our employees complete a 6-hour hands-on training program before they provide personal care to any of our clients. Certainly the job isn't for everyone.

It is hard work and it can be difficult at times. But it is also a very rewarding job that allows you to make a real difference in a person's life.

If you would like to discuss this further, please call (231) 929-****.

Karry told all of her friends who comes to our home to sign their names on their "work"...too bad none of them are famous or I could sell the items on EBAY...

Updated by user Apr 23, 2016

I just don't believe that Karry Anderson would treat a WWII veteran and his family this way...

Updated by user Apr 23, 2016

Karry also doesn't wash dishes...

Original review Apr 18, 2016
Karry Anderson of Comfort Keepers of Youngstown, Ohio serves Banquet (TV) Dinners to a patient every night who has 80% of blocked arteries. She makes me go out to the store and buy them for her.

She also yells at me if I don't do as she asks.

She wipes the patient's behind with baby oil soaked baby wipes real hard, and she's mad when the patient yells out in pain. She watches me and instructs me to also wipe the behind in the same way, and she yells at me if I insist upon using soap and water to wash the oil away...

Worst company to work for, they don't ever have your hours or over time correct. The office staff lies and try's to bad mouth caregivers to clients and other employees as if we don't talk to each other.

My mom was ROBBED by the Comfort Keepers Caregiver

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

After a great deal of research we selected Comfort Keepers to provide assistance with our parents. Of critical importance to us was the safety of our parents.

After continual service problems the worst happened. The Comfort Keepers employee robbed our parents for thousands of dollars. We are confident that our family member was not the only person that was robbed by their caregiver. We are compiling information to show this is a systemic with Sodex, and Comfort Keepers.

That they have failed to comply with state and Federal requirements. They routinely hire employees with little or no background check If you have an instances please let us know, comfortkeepersrobbers@***.com

Extremely satisfied

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My mother was under the care of Comfort Keepers Fletcher-Asheville for awhile until she had to go to a nursing home. Couldn't ask for better service.

It was often beyond what they were responsible for..really caring. Mary Moody was excellent. She went out of her way to keep me up to date on what was going on. My mother got along well with the staff, and was treated with respect and dignity.

I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you Mary and the staff of Comfort Keepers. You made it easier for me, since I live in Montana and can't get back enough to check on Mom. If you need assistance, I would recommend Comfort Keepers in Fletcher.

You'll be glad you did. Mike M.
